Honor Local Oceanside Heroes On National Superhero Day

Superhero Day celebrates the real-life heroes among us from first responders to everyone who dedicates their lives to helping others.

OCEANSIDE, CA — National Superhero Day was created by employees from Marvel Comics in 1955 to get kids to talk about their favorite superheroes. This quickly changed to people talking about the real everyday heroes. Now, Superhero Day is celebrated on April 28 to honor superheroes, both real and fictional.

Oceanside has many superheroes in our midst and this year more than ever they deserve recognition. Here are just a few ways you can honor the police officers, firefighters, healthcare workers, teachers, and other real heroes that live among us:

  • Take your favorite superhero to lunch.
  • Share your favorite local hero story on social media.
  • Send a superhero thank you card to your favorite hero.

Tell the Patch what other creative ways to honor your favorite superhero in the comments below.
