2. Former Camp Pendleton Marine James Sperry was honored at the first game of the World Series Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Sperry was seriously wounded in Iraq in 2004 while serving as machine-gunner with the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. He received a standing ovation from the crowd at St. Louis' Busch Stadium.

5. Marines are pleased with the new policy on KIA bracelets, according to a story on the DVIDS website.
Marines had been prevented from wearing any wrist jewelry except for watches and MIA/prisoner of war bracelets. Under the new policy, Marines can wear killed-in-action bracelets, which often carry the names of fallen comrades.
