It's a Wrap: Camp Pendleton Around the Web
From schools and San Francisco to babies and Bon Jovi, all had Camp Pendleton in common, according to the news online.

Here's a Web wrangle of news and information about Camp Pendleton and the base community:
• plans to reopen on Thursday at Camp Pendleton, SignOnSanDiego.com reports. The school underwent renovation with funds from a $195 million bond measure approved in 2008. In spring, the district plans to rebuild Libby Elementary, also located on base, according to the website.
• The California Senate approved a bill to keep protesters away from funeral services, including that of military personnel, the Marine Corps Times reports. The measure now goes to Gov. Jerry Brown for his signature.

• Bon Jovi's lead guitarist held a guitar giveaway at Camp Pendleton on Friday, according to a 10News.com story. Richie Sambora performed Bon Jovi classics and distributed foldable, full-size guitars to Marines who had entered a contest in the spring, the station said.
• San Francisco Fleet Week's founding father, retired Maj. Gen. Mike Myatt, is profiled on the DVIDs site in advance of Fleet Week 2011 on Oct. 6-11. Beyond celebrating military services, the event aims to help the city prepare for disaster.

• Is Prince Harry bound for Camp Pendleton? That's the rumor parlayed on the OC Weekly blogs site. Harry is a British Army Air Corps captain and is scheduled to train in Arizona and California, although it is not clear if he will head for Pendleton as part of his training to fly Apache helicopters.
• Camp Pendleton's Marine Corps Community Services Diaper Derby drew over 20 competitors in a race for bawling rights, free diapers and an exchange gift card. Read about the competition and see photos on the DVIDs website.
