It's Tax Day Oceanside! May 17 Deadline To File Taxes Is Today.
The IRS and the State of California extended the tax filing date from April 15 to May 17 because of the pandemic.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Tax day is upon us. For many people, this day is full of dread and fear. For others, it means a big refund is coming. For Californians this year it means something else as well.
According to the California Franchise Tax Board if you are a resident that makes less than $75,000 a year you may qualify for the Golden State Stimulus payment. This is a one-time $600 or $1,200 payment per tax return. You may receive this payment if you receive the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) or file with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
If the stimulus payment is not enough of an incentive to file immediately, taxpayers may request an extension for filing their Federal tax return until October 15, 2021 by using Form 4868.
