Local Farmer's Market Spotlight: Carlsbad

On any given Wednesday afternoon you will find locals and tourists
alike, packed into the 1-block that is the State Street Farmers' Market. The
Village of Carlsbad is truly a place that values quality over quantity and this
local Farmer's Market is no exception. Since 1994, the State
Street Farmers' Market has taken place in downtown Carlsbad every Wednesday
starting at 3pm between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue.

While you can expect the usual fresh fruits, vegetables and
flowers that are the center of every Farmer's Market, the focus on organic,
locally prepared and handmade artisan products are what makes this market
unique. The layout of this market is also unique in that the local retail shops
and restaurants become a part of the market as visitors stroll the sidewalks,
while the vendors are all in the center of the street.

According to their website the State Street Farmers' Market
includes approximately 18 produce vendors, 25 packaged specialty food vendors,
six prepared/cooked food vendors and two to four crafters at every market.

With so much to offer it is no wonder this small but incredible little Farmer's Market has such wide appeal.
