Love Oceanside? Become A Downtown Ambassador For the Summer!

OCEANSIDE, CA — Are you the type of person that loves making others feel welcome? Do you love Oceanside? Can you spare a couple of hours a day to assist visitors and locals? Become a Downtown Ambassador!

MainStreet Oceanside, Visit Oceanside and City of Oceanside Economic Development invite you to become a volunteer for the 2021 Downtown Ambassador Program. From July 13 through Sept. 30, Downtown Ambassadors are needed to staff the information booth on Pier View Way on the west side of the pedestrian underpass. Ambassadors will welcome visitors and locals to Downtown and provide visitors with information to help them explore the area and enhance their Downtown Oceanside experience. The program will operate Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Seeking highly enthusiastic individuals ages 16 and older to serve weekly as Ambassadors in two-hour shifts. Ambassadors will direct visitors to restaurants, museums, retail shops, public parking and public transportation as well as provide general event information. Ambassadors will also provide information about current and future developments in Downtown Oceanside and will be tasked with collecting pertinent data from our visitors to help improve future visits to Downtown.

Ambassadors will be trained in all aspects of the program and will be provided with the tools necessary to relay the best information to our visitors. High school students can fulfill their community service requirement by participating in the program. We are requesting that interested community members fill out our online volunteer application or register through the volunteer site Volunteermatch.org, and attend a training session at the MainStreet Oceanside office, 701 Mission Ave.

MainStreet Oceanside collaborates with Visit Oceanside and the City of Oceanside Economic Development to bring a volunteer-driven Downtown Ambassador Program to Downtown Oceanside. The program highlights Oceanside attractions and businesses for tourists and residents who are visiting the Downtown area. The program is intended to make our Downtown visitors feel welcome as they experience and explore the city.
