Man Convicted of Molesting Girlfriend's Daughter

A man who molested his girlfriend's daughter was convicted Monday of 11 counts of sex with a child.
Daniel Roger Hood faces up to 116 years in prison when he is sentenced July 1 by Judge Blaine Bowman. He also was convicted of lewd acts on a child.
Jurors deliberated about 90 minutes before returning their verdicts.
Hood, 43, committed the acts between 2009 and 2011 while he shared a home with the girl and her mother in Temecula and, later, Oceanside.
According to evidence at a preliminary hearing in September, Hood left his cell phone at his cousin's home in Norco. The cousin discovered a video on the phone that showed Hood sexually assaulting the girl, Deputy District Attorney Kevin Watanabe said.
The girl, now 11 years old, confirmed she had been abused by Hood, according to the prosecutor. The girl testified she was molested while her mother was at work.
