Man Struck By Freight Train in Oceanside

Authorities said he is expected to survive.

A person was hospitalized Wednesday with significant injuries after being struck by a freight train in Oceanside, but he was expected to survive, authorities said.

The victim, a male, was struck by a northbound BNSF freight train in the 200 block of Mission Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego County sheriff's Deputy D. Patterson.
