March 24 Is Chock Full Of History And National Days
From Queen Elizabeth I dying in 1603 to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon release in 1973 to National Ag Day; March 24 is a remarkable day.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Too much happened on March 24th in history to try and pick just one. It would be a disservice to the other historical figures who have made an impression on this day.
Here are just some of the highlights of today in history:
1603 - Queen Elizabeth I dies. Daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. She was followed on the throne by King James VI, The son of Mary Queen of Scots. This brought England and Scotland under a single British Monarch.
1664 - A charter to colonize Rhode Island was granted to Roger Williams in London.

1973 – Pink Floyd release the Dark Side of the Moon Album. It has gone on to sell more than 40 Million copies and is still popular today.

March 24th is also the National Day to commemorate everything from Agriculture to Chocolate Covered Raisins.
National Agriculture Day, also known as National Ag Day, recognizes and celebrates agriculture.
National Cheesesteak Day. Made by placing thinly-sliced pieces of beefsteak—often ribeye—on an Italian-style hoagie roll and covering it with lots of cheese.
National Cocktail Day celebrates all types of cocktails, and also encourages people to create their own concoctions.
National Chocolate Covered Raisins Day. Not sure why, but why not!
World Tuberculosis Day - Also known as World TB Day. After a year of pandemic, it's nice to know some diseases are not as common as they once were, like TB.
So get out there and enjoy a Cheesesteak with a Cocktail and pay tribute to your favorite March 24th day.
