Marines at the Market: Show Me the Honey

Patch speaks with the honey guy, veteran Dale McBride, and with Camp Pendleton Marines at Thursday's weekly farmers market.

Staff Sgt. Alan Miracle loves honey. If everyone has got at least one vice, this is his. Miracle came to the Oceanside farmers market with his wife, Karyn, and their two children to get out of the house and walk around in the fresh air.

"We came and got honey from the honey guy down there," said Miracle.

Business owner Dale McBride stood behind a honey-covered table at the Oceanside farmers market Thursday. Several dozen bear shaped containers filled with the golden substance sat on the table's surface, every other bottle distinctive in its shade of yellow.

"We isolate the bees into specific flower groups and you end up getting these marvelous flavors, depending upon which nectar the bees are generating the honey from," said McBride.
