The series was created by a young writer named Rod Serling. It delved into several different genres, including science fiction, comedy, drama, and horror. 868 - The earliest surviving dated printed book is produced in China. The “Diamond Sutra” is one of the most important texts in Mahayana Buddhism. The British Library in London presently houses the copy.

1858 - Minnesota is admitted as the 32nd U.S. state. Known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” or “Star of the North”.

1928 - First Regularly-Scheduled U.S. TV Broadcasts. By General Electric station WGY of Schenectady, New York. Programs were broadcast Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The first television broadcast aired was the dedication of the RCA pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fairgrounds. It was introduced by David Sarnoff himself.
