Mother’s Day Festival in Oceanside’s South Morro Hills

Mellano Farm Stand is holding a free Mother’s Day Outdoor Festival on Saturday, May 8 and Sunday, May 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Mellano & Company is a family-operated flower farm in Oceanside’s South Morro Hills that has been around for nearly a century, ever since Italian immigrant Giovanni Mellano began in 1925.

But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it devastated the flower industry and hit Mellano & Company hard. That's when the family opened the Mellano Farm Stand selling their flowers & produce locally. This weekend the farm stand will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a Mother’s Day festival featuring farm-fresh flower options for mom, specialty coffees, food truck, cotton candy, kid’s crafts, live music, tractor rides & U-pick (moms are free!), photo opportunities, and more.

"We think everyone will love this fun, outdoor celebration, connecting with nature and their families,” Castellano said.

Mellano Farm Stand is located at 5750 North River Road, Oceanside, CA 92057. They are open Thursday-Sunday and will host additional events throughout the summer including a watermelon festival and children’s educational events.
