Nell is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 3 year old, 21 pound, female, Chihuahua / Dachshund mix (Chi-Weenie).

Nell and her three puppies were stray when they were picked up and taken to an animal rescue in the Imperial Valley. The little family was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program.

They went into foster care together with a trained volunteer. When they returned, the puppies were adopted right away.

Now it’s Nell’s turn to begin her new life. She needs patient owners who will help her build confidence. She might like living with another dog.

The $145 adoption fee for Nell includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services.
