Oceanside Barber Shop Makes the Cut for Camp Pendleton Marines

For Pfc. Ryan Morton, a haircut at Stud Cuts each Sunday keeps his hair looking tight and clean, but most importantly will keep him within Marine Corps regulation guidelines.

“I'm ready for the week coming up,” said Morton. “I got a medium-high reg with a razor fade on the back, trimmed it up on top. That's what I usually get.”

Morton was one of many who fill this barber shop each week. During a typical weekend, Stud Cuts services several thousand Marines.

“[My mother and I] opened Stud Cuts with the idea that they could come in and hang out, chit-chat with us,” said Stud Cuts co-owner Amanda Mann.

Monique Struck stood just outside of the barber shop entrance, handing out numbered slips of paper.

“I hand out numbers, in case we're really busy,” said Struck. “It makes it easier on the barbers.”
