Oceanside Has Openings On Citizens Boards & Commissions
The City of Oceanside is encouraging residents to apply for vacant seats on boards and commissions, with applications due by May 14.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The City of Oceanside is searching for residents that are interested in applying to serve on several Citizens Boards & Commissions.
According to the city's website, the primary responsibility of all members of committees, boards and commissions is to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council. Council looks to their advisory groups for sound, quality recommendations based on all available input and what is best for the entire City.
Mayor Esther Sanchez posted a Facebook notice on Tuesday asking residents to apply. Here are the details of the notice:

Notice of Vacancies on Citizens Boards & Commissions for the City of Oceanside! Please Apply!
The offices of the city clerk and the city manager have announced scheduled vacancies to occur on or about July/August 2021 for the following boards and commissions:

- Arts Commission – 4 regular; and 1 alternate vacancies
- Citizens Investment Oversight Committee – 1 regular vacancy
- Downtown Advisory Committee –1 regular: Downtown Project Area Residential Property Owner/Occupant; and 1 regular: Real Estate Professional vacancies
- Historical Preservation Advisory Commission – 1 regular: Architect; 1 regular: 30-Year Resident; and 1 regular: Historian vacancies
- Housing Commission – 2 regular; 1 regular: Tenant; 1 regular: Tenant 62+; and 2 alternate vacancies
- Manufactured Home Fair Practices Commission – 1 alternate vacancy
- Parks & Recreation Commission – 5 regular; and 2 alternate vacancies
- Police & Fire Commission - 2 regular
- Utilities Commission – 3 regular; and 1 alternate vacancies
Applications may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office, 300 North Coast Highway and should be returned by May 14, 2021, to be considered for the June 16th city council agenda. Applications are also available on the City's website at www.ci.oceanside.ca.us. Applications are kept on file for one year.
