Oceanside Homelessness Ad-Hoc Committee Hosts 1st Public Hearing
The current state of homelessness in our region is focus of hearing on January 30, 2019, from 5-7 pm in City Council Chambers.

OCEANSIDE, CA - The first public hearing on the state of homelessness by the ad-hoc committee created by the Oceanside Housing Commission is Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 5:00 -7:00 pm, in the City Council Chambers.
The ad-hoc committee was formed in response to the Oceanside City Council voting to declare a Shelter Crisis in October, 2018. The declaration establishes eligibility to seek funds through the State of California’s Homeless Emergency Aid Program. The new committee has been tasked with examining the causes of homelessness, collecting input and developing recommendations to address homelessness in our community and reporting back to the Housing Commission.
This first hearing will also include time for members of the public to share concerns and suggestions for addressing homelessness in the City of Oceanside. The committee plans to hold additional hearings each month through June 2019, to examine possible solutions for homelessness in the region.
