Oceanside Man Dies in Pala Raceway Crash

The 46-year-old motocross rider was killed Friday afternoon when his dirt bike collided with that of another, authorities said.

PALA, CA: Authorities have publicly identified a dirt bike rider killed Friday in a collision at the Pala Raceway as a 46-year-old Oceanside man.

Terrence James Cook's dirt bike collided with that of a second rider on the motocross track off state Route 76 near Magee Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. Friday, according to the county medical examiner's office. The second rider lost control coming out of a jump and crossed into Cook's path.

Cook died at the scene, authorities said. The second rider was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries of undisclosed severity.
