Oceanside Names Miss Fire Prevention 2013 – Alexxa Morgan

Morgan, 17, was crowned on June 22 at the Oceanside Fire Association Scholarship Pageant held at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.

An Oceanside teen was named Miss Oceanside Fire Prevention 2013 at a pageant last month. 

Alexxa Morgan, 17, was crowned on June 22 at the Oceanside Fire Association Scholarship Pageant held at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.

Alexxa attends Mira Costa College where she maintains a 4.0 GPA.

She volunteers at Make-A-Wish Foundation and was also crowned as the 1st Miss Make-A-Wish San Diego, according to pageant coordinator Genevieve Wunder. 

Alexxa enjoys in dancing, volunteering, public speaking, traveling and cooking, and hopes to earn an MBA in Business Economics from UCLA.

According to the pageant website, Alexxa will "serve as the official liason between the community of Oceanside and the Oceanside Firefighters Association for public speaking on fire prevention and safety."

The first Miss Fire Prevention was Diane Killourhy, who was crowned in 1960. Known as "Flame," Miss Killourhy attended Oceanside High School (Class of 1961) and now lives in Arizona, said Wunder.
