Oceanside ranked slightly higher in the categories of professional opportunities and quality of life. The California cities that ranked the highest were San Francisco at #25, Sacramento at #36 and San Diego at #45. The lowest CA score was Santa Clarita at #173. The lowest score in the country went to Newark, NJ, while Salt Lake City, UT was ranked highest in the U.S.

According to the WalletHub report, new graduates aren’t entering the market at a great time, as the unemployment rate for people ages 20 through 24 was 10.5% in April 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news is that employers plan to hire 7.2% more graduates from the Class of 2021 than they did from the Class of 2020. Due to increased hiring and the vaccine rollout, we should expect to see significant declines in unemployment this year.
