Oceanside One of Seven Cities in Warrant Sweep; 27 Arrested

Deputies were seeking those with outstanding warrants for drunk driving or domestic violence, officials said.

Sheriff's deputies arrested 27 people with outstanding warrants stemming from drunken driving or domestic violence offenses during a sweep in North County and South Bay cities Saturday, a sheriff's sergeant said.

Starting at 6 a.m., deputies fanned out across Vista, San Marcos, Oceanside, Encinitas, National City, Chula Vista and Imperial Beach in search of those with outstanding misdemeanor or felony warrants, sheriff's Sgt. Bill Munsch said.

One of those arrested was a woman also suspected of felony methamphetamine possession, according to Munsch.
