Oceanside School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Oceanside is August 14. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Oceanside Unified School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/7: New Teachers Report
• 8/8: Returning Teachers Report
• 8/8 - 8/11: Teacher In-service Days
• 8/14: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/6 - 10/13: Elementary Parent Conferences (Early)

November

• 11/6: First Trimester Ends
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day Observed)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Week)
• 11/29 - 12/6: Elementary Parent Conferences (Late)

December

• 12/15: End of First Semester
• 12/18 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/8: Second Semester Begins
• 1/15: Dr. Martin Luther King Day

February

• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (Presidents Week)

March

• 3/7: Second Trimester Ends

April

• 4/9 - 4/13: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/7: Last Day of School, Minimum Day
• 6/8: Teacher In-service Day
