Oceanside Woman Hit by Car in Vista

Wanda Adamov, 65, died Monday night after she attempted to cross a street when her car broke down.

An Oceanside woman was fatally struck Monday night while crossing a Vista street, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Wanda Adamov’s car came to a stop apparently because of a mechanical
problem in the 400 block of North Melrose Drive, north of Ascot Drive, shortly
before 8 p.m. Monday, and she was fatally struck after she got out and tried to
cross the street mid-block, according to the San Diego County Medical
Examiner's Office.

The other driver, who was in a blue 2005 Nissan Xterra, was interviewed
at the scene by sheriff’s deputies but was not cited in connection with the
death, pending an investigation, Deputy Michael Power said.
