Oceanside Women Killed in Fiery Crash Identified
The driver escaped, but both passengers and a dog were killed.

One of two Oceanside women killed in a fiery drunken- driving crash in the Bay Park neighborhood over the weekend was publicly identified today.
Guadalupe Acosta Amado, 20, was a front-seat passenger in a 2002 Dodge Stratus that crashed into large rocks and an overpass support column along Friars Road near Pacific Highway and burst into flames shortly after 7:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. The body of a backseat passenger, identified in news reports as 21-year- old Lizzy Garcia, and the corpse of a small dog were also found in the charred wreckage.
The suspected drunken driver, whose name was not made public, got out of the burning vehicle and was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment of minor cuts and burns, authorities said. San Diego police officials said he would be arrested upon his release from the hospital.
