Oceanside Unified School District announces 2020-21 Teachers and Classified Employees of the Year.
OCEANSIDE, CA — The Oceanside Unified School District has announced the 2020-21 Teachers and Classified Employees of the Year. Each year, the district accepts nominations and selects two teachers and two classified non-teaching employees who go above and beyond in their roles.

Alyssa Schrom, 4th Grade Teacher at Del Rio Elementary, 8 years teaching. Schrom will go on as a finalist for San Diego County’s teacher of the year.
Xye Sanders, 7/8th Grade Education Specialist at Chavez Middle, 19 years teaching. Sanders will go on as a finalist for San Diego County’s teacher of the year.

Classified Employees of the Year:
Regina Basaanes, Special Education Paraprofessional at Foussat Elementary, 8.5 years in OUSD. Basanes will go on as a finalist for San Diego County’s classified employee of the year.
Allen Sanders, Lead Day Custodian at Oceanside High School, 30 years in OUSD.
