Restaurants Care Resilience Fund Application Opens April 11
The California Restaurant Foundation is launching the Restaurants Care Resilience Fund to help small independent restaurants stay open.
OCEANSIDE, CA — The California Restaurant Foundation (CRF), a non-profit that invests in and empowers California's restaurants and its workforce, has received more than $1.25 million from SoCalGas, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), and others to launch the Resilience Fund. The fund will provide grants of up to $3,500 to single-unit restaurants across California, with priority given to woman- and person of color-owned restaurants.
Restaurants are among the businesses hardest hit by the pandemic. The California Restaurant Foundation has received a $200,000 shareholder-funded charitable grant from SDG&E to help fund $2,000 grants to single-unit restaurants in San Diego County. Applications will be open April 11-18 with priority given to restaurants owned by women and people of color.
Restaurants Care is also funding a safety-net for restaurant workers – the servers, cooks, and dishwashers at the heart of restaurants. To learn more about hardship grants for restaurant workers click here.
