The telephone was invented in 1876 by inventor Elisha Gray just hours before Alexander Graham Bell, but Bell got the first patent.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Can you hear me now Oceanside? You probably can because according to the 2019 American Community Survey, just 1.0% (1,263,227) occupied housing units out of 122,802,852 had no telephone service available.

On April 25th, we observe National Telephone Day. Around the world, there are 9.82 billion mobile phones. And while some predicted the landline to be obsolete by 2020, there are still about 931 million landlines around the world.
