San Diego Construction Company Wins Bid For Marine Corps Barracks

Harper Construction Inc. was awarded a $67.7 million contract to build three bachelor enlisted quarters at Marine Corps base Camp Lejeune, N.C., City News Service reported.

The company that has built a number of bachelor enlisted quarters on military bases like Camp Pendleton and others in San Diego County has got its sights set on Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

Harper Construction Inc., based in San Diego's Little Italy, was awarded a $67.7 million contract to build three bachelor enlisted quarters at the Marine Corps base, City News Service reported.

The buildings will be up to five stories high and will include a total of 400 units at Courthouse Bay on the Marine base. The project is expected to take up to two years to complete.

The contract includes two options that, if exercised, could bring the
total amount to $75.9 million.
