She's a sweet potato.

Yampi Yampi is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 3-1/2 year old, 45 pound, female, Australian Cattledog / Pointer mix.

Yampi Yampi was a stray before being transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program.

She likes dog toys and treats, but prefers the company of people.

Her family will need to be patient. Yampi Yampi gets along with other dogs when she has time and space to meet them safely. She also likes kids. Give her time to meet them at her own pace.

She was one of several new arrivals named after roots. A Yampi is like a sweet potato.

The $145 adoption fee for Yampi Yampi includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society’s Department of Animal Services. Special note:

Find out how you can become a “Virtual Foster.” If you want to lend a helping paw to the pets at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society, but this isn’t a good time for you to take a cat, dog, or rabbit into your home, this is perfect for you. Trained foster volunteers care for the pets in their homes. “Virtual Fosters” sponsor the pets to help pay their expenses while they’re in foster care or at the shelter, waiting to be adopted.

Virtual fosters save lives! For more information call 760-753-6413 or log on to www.sdpets.org.
