OCEANSIDE, CA — The latest Housing Market Trends from Neighborhood Scout indicate that real estate costs in Oceanside are not just continuing to go up, but are among some of the highest in the nation. Of some consolation to home buyers is that house prices in Oceanside are less when compared to real estate prices in the most expensive California communities.

It is estimated that Oceanside has over 61,000 total housing units (homes and apartments), with a median house value of $582,291. Single-family detached homes account for 52.76% of the city's housing units with 57.36% owning and 42.64% renting. Most of Oceanside housing was built between 1970 to 1999, with only about 13% from between 2000 and later. A small 1.5% of housing in Oceanside was built before 1939.

When it comes to home appreciation rates, Oceanside housing appreciated 83.11% over the last ten years and is in the top 10% nationally.
