Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed in Santa Ana Crash

The crash was reported at 8:50 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of North Euclid Street, according to Santa Ana police.

SANTA ANA (CNS) — A motorcyclist who died when he crashed into a truck that crossed his path in Santa Ana was identified Monday.

Phucdai Nguyen, 27, was a Westminster resident, according to Supervising Deputy Orange County Coroner Erica Arellano.

The crash was reported at 8:50 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of North Euclid Street, according to Santa Ana police.

Arriving officers found the motorcyclist now identified as Nguyen in the roadway with visible head trauma, police said. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics began to treat him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicated the motorcyclist was southbound on Euclid when he collided with a truck crossing southbound lanes of Euclid from a driveway, police said. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Alcohol was not believed to have played a role in the collision but speed is believed to have been a factor, police said.
