ANAHEIM, CA —Disney+ members saw a few hiccups with the launch of the subscription-based video service, Tuesday. The Walt Disney Company's library of video content became accessible this week like never before. Unfortunately, due to the influx of users from across the globe, users reported streaming and login issues when the service launched.

"The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our high expectations," a Disney+ spokesperson said. "We are pleased by this incredible response and are working to resolve the current user issue quickly. We appreciate your patience."

Disney, famous for their customer service, worked to make things right, offering a free seven day trial for just about anyone who signed up.

With starting price of $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, Disney+ remains significantly less expensive than Netflix, charging double for their standard HD plan. A package deal allows Disney+ users to sign up for Hulu and ESPN+ for a mere $12.99 a month.

Not yet sold? Netflix subscribers can still get their Disney video fix on the HD streaming service, at least for the time being. Shows that you cannot find on Netflix include Disney+'s original programming at its launch includes "The Mandalorian," which is the first live-action Star Wars series.

That show was the number one draw for many viewers that Patch canvassed, with a close second being the live-action retelling of "Lady and the Tramp." But, beware if you wanted to binge watch the whole Mandalorian series. Disney+ has a planned release schedule for the show over several weeks.

The service launched in Canada, the Netherlands, and the United States and problems began shortly after that. By 7 a.m. Pacific time, over 8,000 users reported issues with Disney+ service Tuesday morning said they had "a streaming problem."

The rest experienced problems signing on, buffering or accessing show information, according to the website downdetector.com. By 10 a.m. less than 1,000 viewers were reporting issues with the service. By the end of the day, the majority of users were happily downloading such vault classics as "The Shaggy D.A." and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" along with new content.

Disney+ offers nearly 500 films and 7,500 episodes of television from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. We are certain there will be some gems in here you've forgotten you loved once upon a time!

Disney+ will also show National Geographic and 30 seasons of the Fox animated comedy, "The Simpsons," as part of the programming The Walt Disney Co. acquired in its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, completed in March.

Beginning Friday, most new episodes of each Disney+ original content series will premiere on Fridays at 12:01 a.m.

"The launch of Disney+ is a historic moment for our company that marks a new era of innovation and creativity," said Robert A. Iger, chairman, and CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
