Metrolink Reopens Tracks After Shutting Some Down Amid High Winds

A high wind event sent objects flying around Orange County Sunday and prompted Metrolink to close some tracks temporarily.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — High speed winds whipped through Orange County Sunday, knocking power lines and trees around. Due to a downed power line, Metrolink was forced to close tracks between the Fullerton and Anaheim stations temporarily.

Metrolink tweeted around 3:40 p.m. that the tracks had reopened.

A downed Eucalyptus tree also temporarily blocked the intersection of Red Hill Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard in Irvine, Irvine police reported Sunday.
