- Michael Avenatti, who represented the adult film actress Stormy Daniels in a dispute with former President Donald Trump, will face alleged fraud charges in Orange County. Jurors in Santa Ana will soon begin filling out questionnaires about their availability to hear evidence against Avenatti (read more on Patch)
- Orange County, including the main courthouse in Santa Ana, are reopening to the public with relaxed COVID-19 restrictions, reports Sean Emery. The public reopening of courtrooms is expected to phase out cameras used to stream hearings online, which has been instituted during the pandemic to allow public access to trials and court hearings. - Orange County crews are working to repair damages after last week's high tides caused flooding along Capistrano Beach in Dana Point. Repair work began Monday, but is expected to last months. (CBS Los Angeles)
- A hit-and-run witness in Mission Viejo is recovering from a bullet wound to her foot after being shot by the driver. The shooting victim witnessed a truck crash into another vehicle. After following the truck as it drove from the scene, the driver shot her in the foot. Authorities did not immediately identify the suspect, but indicated the individual is also wanted in a domestic dispute incident in San Clemente that occurred just before the crash and shooting (read more on Patch)
