Morningside of Fullerton Residents Begin Pre-Pandemic Activities
Fullerton Retirement Community Has Slowly and Cautiously Started Reopening The Dining Room, Large Group Activities and Other Meeting Places

With 99.9% of residents at Morningside of Fullerton retirement community fully vaccinated, residents have begun to resume pre-pandemic social activities. For the last month, the community has slowly and cautiously started reopening the dining room and other meeting places. In addition, larger group activities are now taking place inside the community.
Harvey and Laurie Fichtelberg are two of the more than 400 residents who call the community home. The couple is now playing pickleball three days a week, enjoying the gym again, and taking indoor watercolor classes with their fellow residents. “It’s been wonderful to see and interact with my friends again,” said Harvey. “We stayed busy during the pandemic, but now there’s so much to do, it’s hard to make time for everything.”
Residents at Morningside began receiving their first vaccinations in early January. During the pandemic, activities at Morningside were tightly monitored, but the activities team worked hard to incorporate as many creative and socially distanced activities as possible, including outdoor performances by Disneyland performers and outdoor fitness courses.
