SANTA ANA, CA — Is there anything cuter than firefighters rescuing kittens? We don't think so. Recently, Orange County Fire Authority Firefighters were called to the scene where a tiny kitten had gotten stuck inside a bunk bed, OCFA Capt. Sean Doran told patch.

Doran talked with us about the hero firefighters from Station 73 in Santa Ana who saved the day after an emergency call from some worried kids.

"Firefighter Matt Petro was on hand for a tricky rescue in late April," Doran said.

The kids realized their young kitten was in trouble and wanted to call for help. Station 73 obliged with the rescue.

Petro and fellow firefighters arrived at the house and were directed to where the young kitten's head was sticking out from a hole in a bunk bed, Doran said.

The firefighters used soap and water on the kitten's head and were eventually able to wiggle him out from the tight spot, gently.

Reminder: Little pets tend to hide in the strangest places! Be sure and secure your home to keep your pets out of trouble. But, if you ever need a hand, Orange County Fire Authority firefighters are only too happy to lend a hand and serve the community.
