OC 10-Year-Old Receives Future Leader Award From Chamber

ORANGE COUNTY -- Ten-year-old Ryan Hickman of Ryan’s Recycling was presented with the Future Leader Award by Ware Disposal during the Greater Irvine Chamber’s inaugural 40 Under 40 reception Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, 7905 Irvine Center Dr.

Hickman has become an international icon for recycling awareness, and has recycled more than 600,000 cans and bottles since launching Ryan’s Recycling in 2012 when he was just three years old. He's active in leading beach cleanup events in Orange County and travels globally speaking about recycling and saving the planet.

He's also junior ambassador for Recycle Across America, Sand Cloud, Busch Systems, and Valet Living. Hickman was recognized following a presentation of more seasoned professionals under the age of 40 who are making strides in their industries and the business community in Orange County.
