One week ago, the OC Health Care Agency reported that case rates in the county remained at the Orange Level of Gov. Gavin Newsom's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

To reach the yellow tier, Orange County would need less than two new daily cases per 100,000 residents over a two-week period of time. The county has maintained their "yellow tier" figures in the test positivity rate, at a 1.4 percent rate, and the Health Equity Quartile Positivity Rate, at 1.7 percent. These figures will be updated on Tuesday.

In Orange County, vaccination appointments are getting easier to come by. With new sites opening in Irvine's Great Park on Monday, Orange County Health Care prepared to wind down their work at the Disneyland Drive-Thru Super Point-of-Dispensing vaccination site as of April 30.

Disneyland Resort is reopening to guests on that date and anticipates that over 233,000 doses of vaccine will have been distributed there at the time of the site closure. For the past month, the site has overseen second-dose appointments at the Disneyland Super POD.

"As more local businesses are reopening and increased, full-time employment opportunities are becoming more readily available. The HCA has determined to reallocate existing staffing resources to other Super POD locations to bolster their operations," OC Health Care's Dr. Clayton Chau said. "I want to remind the community that our Soka University, Santa Ana College, and the OC Fair & Event Center Super PODs currently offer ADA-compliant drive-thru lanes to continue meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities. We’re not going away — we’re just balancing the changing needs of eligible patients with our staffing and vaccine allocations to ensure we can be as responsive as possible."

The Othena website, which began as problematic and ran several weeks behind in scheduling appointments, is now setting appointments for the same day, a spokesperson says.
