ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The County of Orange and OC Parks present the annual Sunset Cinema film series, featuring 14 free, family-friendly movies at Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Craig Regional Park, Yorba Regional Park, Mason Regional Park, Irvine Regional Park, Laguna Niguel Regional Park and Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach.

Sunset Cinema brings recent and classic films to the big screen at your favorite regional parks every Friday evening throughout the summer, starting on June 14 and running through Sept. 13.

The first free movie night of the series kicks off on Friday, June 14, at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea with a screening of Disney’s Zootopia. Enjoy “those summer nights” and sing along during the pop culture classic Grease on Friday, June 21, at Carbon Canyon Regional Park.

The series continues at Craig Regional Park in Fullerton with the heroic showing of Thor on Friday, June 28. Dive into the adventurous world of science fiction with the original Jurassic Park screening on Friday, July 5, at Craig Regional Park.

On Friday, July 12, get the family together for the live-action animated comedy Paddington 2 at Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim. The following week join in the adventure with The Goonies on Friday, July 19, at Yorba Regional Park.

Sunset Cinema then moves to Mason Regional Park in Irvine as everyone’s favorite family of superheroes returns for Incredibles 2 on Friday, July 26. The worldwide cultural phenomenon Back to the Future makes its appearance on Friday, Aug. 2, at Mason Regional Park.

Remember the joy of being a child as Mary Poppins Returns comes to the big screen at Irvine Regional Park in Orange on the evening of Friday, Aug. 9. Take a walk on the wild side with a showing of the original Disney classic, The Jungle Book on Friday, Aug. 16, at Irvine Regional Park.

Head over to Laguna Niguel Regional Park for newly released The LEGO Movie 2 on Friday, Aug. 23. The following week enjoy one of America’s favorite romantic comedies, The Princess Bride, on Friday, Aug. 30, at Laguna Niguel Regional Park.

Bring the whole ohana down to scenic Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point for Lilo & Stitch on Friday, Sept. 6. End the summer with Bruce Brown’s iconic surfing documentary, The Endless Summer, on Friday, Sept. 13, at Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach, where it all began.

“We are thrilled to see the Sunset Cinema film series grow each year,” Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Lisa Bartlett, Fifth District, said. “These free events welcome movie lovers of all ages to gather in a beautiful, outdoor setting and enjoy film favorites under the summer sky.”

Pack a picnic, blankets and beach chairs and head to OC Parks Sunset Cinema to enjoy recent popular films and introduce the young ones in your life to timeless classics. All movies are free to attend, with free parking beginning at 5 p.m. and show times starting around 8 p.m., after the sun begins to set.

Movies will feature pre-show entertainment that varies per park including arts and crafts, activities, demonstrations and entertainers. Food trucks will be serving onsite and a beer and wine garden will be available to those 21 and over. For more information, visit www.ocparks.com.
