Suspect Out On Bail Charged In Beating Death Of Anaheim Man
A suspect released on bail for an assault is suspected of beating two men on Monday. One died as a result. His bail now set at $2 million.

ANAHEIM, CA — A 30-year-old man free on bail in an assault with a deadly weapon case earlier this month was arrested on suspicion of killing an elderly man Monday and assaulting another.
David Steven Abbott, 30, of Anaheim, was accused of attacking and causing the death of 70-year-old Anaheim resident Rahmatolah “Davey” Yaghoubi.
Abbott was free on bail in an assault with a deadly weapon case earlier this month was arrested on suspicion of killing Yaghoubi Monday and assaulting another man.

Abbott attacked a 60-year-old man about noon in the 1300 block of Devonshire Road. The victim suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized—Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer alleged.
About 20 minutes later, near Falmouth and Catalpa avenues, Abbot attacked Yaghoubi, who died after being taken to a hospital for treatment, Carringer said.

Police booked abbot into the Anaheim jail in connection with the attacks and Yaghoubi's death. Bail was set at $2 million, but Carringer said detectives were seeking a bail enhancement.

On May 20, Abbot was released from jail after posting $100,000 bail stemming from a May 15 assault with a deadly weapon case.
Detectives were asking anyone who may have had contact with Abbott or been a victim of a similar assault to contact homicide detectives at 714- 321-3669 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIPOCCS.
