Fatal Hit-And-Run In Fullerton, Woman Arrested

A body was found just east of Harbor Boulevard in Fullerton. Orangethorpe east of Harbor was closed, & a driver investigated early Thursday.

FULLERTON, CA —A body was discovered at Orangethorpe Avenue just East of Harbor Boulevard Thursday morning in what officials believe was a fatal hit-and-run.

Police later detained a driver for questioning, though it is not known if any arrests have been made as of this report.

At 3:30 a.m., Fullerton Police responded to an unknown trouble call where they found the man lying dead in the number 3 eastbound lane, according to Fullerton police Corporal Billy Phu.

Phu said the victim's "significant" injuries led officers to believe he had been struck by a vehicle.

Eastbound Orangethorpe Avenue was shut down between Harbor Boulevard and Pomona Avenue for the investigation.

"Officers located a white sedan away from the crime scene with significant damage," Phu said. The driver, a woman whose name and city of residence were not immediately disclosed, was detained for questioning and later arrested.

The victim's identity was not immediately released.
