Yorba Linda Plane Crash Sparks House Fire, Kills 5 People: Photos

YORBA LINDA, CA —A small plane broke apart over the residential neighborhood of Yorba Linda, California, yesterday, February 3. Authorities have since confirmed that five people died and two were injured after a twin-engine plane crashed into the Southern California suburb, causing raining debris and setting a house on fire.

Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Cory Martino told reporters that four of the victims— two males, and two females — were occupants of the burned home, but did not provide other information about them. The other fatality is confirmed to be the pilot, reports AP.

A propeller of the aircraft was found sprawled out on a nearby resident's driveway.

The plane was a Cessna 414A and can carry up to eight people. It took off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport about 12 miles west of the blaze, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Allen Kenitzer said.
