Actor Rick Schroder Arrested On Suspicion Of Domestic Violence

It's the second time in a month that police were called to the "Silver Spoons" and "NYPD Blue" star's home on a domestic violence call.

TOPANGA, CA — Actor Rick Schroder was in police custody Wednesday after being arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were called to the home of the 49-year-old "NYPD Blue" star in the 21900 block of Gold Stone Road in the Topanga area at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday to respond to a report of possible domestic violence. It was the second time in a month that Schroder was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

"When deputies arrived, they made contact with the suspect and the victim," a sheriff's statement said. "They also identified evidence of a physical altercation."

They arrested Schroder, and he was being held on $50,000 bail Wednesday morning.

Authorities did not release the name of the woman allegedly victimized in the incident nor did they identify the nature of the relationship between the pair. She declined medical treatment, the sheriff's department reported.

"On April 2, at approximately 12:26 a.m., a similar incident occurred between suspect Schroder and the victim at the same residence," the sheriff's statement said.

At that time, Schroder was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, and he was released on bond, the sheriff's department reported.

Schroder is best known for playing Ricky Stratton on the 1980s sitcom "Silver Spoons," and later for a starring role on the television series "NYPD Blue."
