Volunteers are needed to help revive the Native Plant Garden at Temescal Canyon Park on March 31.
The park needs some weeding and volunteers to dig holes for new plants that were recently purchased by a grant from the Pacific Palisades Junior Women's Club.
Planting and weeding will be going on from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the park, which is located on the east side of Temescal Canyon Road between Pacific Coast Highway and Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades. There is a large wooden sign that reads "Pacific Palisades/Native Plant Garden" just south of the Bowdoin Street traffic signal and the "Chumash" mural.

Organizers say volunteers should bring gloves, sunscreen, a hat and your favorite garden tools. If you plan on staying all day, bring a snack or boxed lunch.
Event organizer, Barbara Marinacci says the garden was dedicated in 1988 as a demonstration garden and was the first of its kind on the Westside.
