Crews Search For Possibly Missing Swimmer At Will Rogers Beach
A bystander reported seeing a possible person, in the water, but after searching lifeguards found nothing.
PACIFIC PALISADE, CA — A nearly 90-minute search for a possibly missing swimmer in the ocean off Pacific Palisades was ended Wednesday evening after authorities determined the object in the water was likely a marine animal.
A bystander reported seeing something, possibly a person, in the water about 9:05 p.m. near Will Rogers State Beach, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The search was called off around 10:30 p.m. after it was determined the bystander may have seen a marine animal in the water, not a person, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

"This was a good drill for us with the best possible result," a member of the county fire department's Lifeguard Division, which led the search, told NBC4.
Los Angeles fire and police departments and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted in the search, Prange said.
