Hit&Run Crash Closes Topanga Canyon Boulevard

A stretch of Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed Monday after a hit and run crash knocked down a power pole.

TOPANGA, CA — A section of Topanga Canyon Boulevard was closed in both directions overnight after a vehicle crashed into a power pole, downing some wires onto the roadway, authorities said Monday.

Crews from Southern California Edison and Caltrans were sent to the scene of the accident, which happened just before midnight Sunday near Entrada Road in the Topanga area.

The hit-and-run crash left some wires down in the road, which was closed in both directions in the area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

About 8:40 a.m., the southbound lanes were reopened and by about 3 p.m. all lanes were reopened, although utility crews continued repair and service restoration work that was expected to last into Monday evening
