DUI Checkpoint To Be Held Near Pacific Palisades

LAPD officers will be stationed on Santa Monica Boulevard looking for signs of impaired driving.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department will hold a series of DUI checkpoints this weekend, including a stop on the Westside near Pacific Palisades. Patrol officers will be posted at Santa Monica Boulevard and Purdue Avenue, near the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center by the 405.

The checkpoint will be held tonight from 7 p.m. through midnight.

"Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests," LAPD said in a statement. "The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired. During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs."
