Eugene Levy To Be Sworn In As Pacific Palisades' Honorary Mayor

An online inauguration ceremony will be held on January 26, with special guests Billy and Janice Crystal.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — The presidential inauguration may be over, but here in the Palisades, another high-profile inauguration is set for next Tuesday. Eugene Levy, the Canadian-born actor known for his roles in the American Pie franchise, Cheaper By The Dozen 2 and more, will be sworn in as the honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades during a Zoom celebration.

Levy will be joined by special guests Billy and Janice Crystal, who currently serve as honorary co-mayors of the Palisades, along with fellow actor Martin Short. The free, virtual ceremony will start at 6 p.m. on January 26th.

The inauguration will be hosted by the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce. After the ceremony, PPCC will hold its annual general board meeting to introduce new members and announce the Valentine's day event.

Levy was confirmed as the Palisades' next honorary mayor on September 21, a day after he took home two Emmy Awards for his sitcom Schitt's Creek.

Virginia Bruce became the first honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades in 1951. Previously, celebrities such as Adam West, Bob Sagat and Sugar Ray Leonard have held the role.
