Famed LA Donut Shop To Open On Westside

VENICE, CA — You might want to dig out those jeans with elastic waistbands because one of LA’s most beloved donut shops is heading to your hood.

Primo’s Donuts on Sawtelle Boulevard is famous for its mouth-watering confections, and now the shop that the Los Angeles Times credits with “some of the best buttermilk bars in the city — tangy and covered in crunchy sweet edges —” is opening a new location on Main Street in Venice.

According to the Times, Owners Ralph and Celia Primo will open shop in Venice later this year 62 years after they opened their Sawtelle Boulevard donut shop.

“Our business has grown tremendously over the last three years, primarily due to social media, and our little shop just doesn’t have the capacity to fulfill demand,” Ralph Primo told the newspaper.
