Hurry Curry To Permanently Close At The End Of February
The Japanese restaurant has been in the neighborhood for 33 years.
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Popular Westside restaurant Hurry Curry sadly announced they will close at the end of February. Owners of the Japanese restaurant said they lost their lease after 33 successful years.
"We are especially proud of our many excellent employees over the years who represented us so well and prepared and served what we felt was the best curry in Los Angeles," the owners wrote in a statement. "We are also proud to have been a significant part of the development of Sawtelle Blvd from a sleepy street near the 405 to a powerhouse of dining. It is the street L.A. goes for Asian food."
Hurry Curry first opened in 1989, and has been a staple of the bustling Sawtelle restaurant scene ever since. The restaurant launched an employee assistance GoFundMe to help workers cope with the transition, with an initial goal of $15,000.
