JetBlue To Deliver New York Pizzas Across SoCal For 3 Days

Angelenos will sink their teeth into piping hot pizza flown in from New York as part of JetBlue's three-day "Pie In The Sky" promotion.

LOS ANGELES, CA — In the time-honored debate over which is King — Chicago or New York-style pizza — California has always been relegated to the sidelines. But for the next three days, we’ll get to sink our teeth into the argument, thanks to a JetBlue promotion delivering pizzas to Angelinos straight from New York.

JetBlue Airways "Pie in the Sky" program will deliver authentic New York pizza from Patsy's Pizzeria of East Harlem to select LA-area zip codes. Each day for the next three days, JetBlue will fly 350 pizzas into LAX, take them to a final preparation area, and deliver them piping hot to lucky Angelenos (and homesick New York transplants).

To get your slice of the pie, you can place an order beginning at midnight each day for cheese or pepperoni pizzas. The orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A 16-inch cheese or pepperoni pizza costs $12 and $15. Go to www.jetblue.pizza to find out if you live in the delivery zone.

There is no delivery fee, and no tips are required for the drivers who deliver the pizzas, according to JetBlue.
Once the pizza is ordered, customers can track the status of their pie on the airline's pizza website throughout the day. Once the pizza arrives in Los Angeles and is ready for delivery, customers will be given a delivery time between 7 and 10 p.m.

JetBlue insists the pizza will be delivered hot and ready to eat.

"A designated pizzaiolo – a specially trained pizza chef – has overseen the logistics of the pizza's journey to ensure quality is maintained throughout the process," according to the airline. "The process by which the pizza is being prepped and transported for its journey ensures that it will not only be safe, but also delicious."

To celebrate the start of the service Wednesday, JetBlue will hold a pizza party at LAX Terminal 5, dishing out authentic New York slices to travelers.
